CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou High School will host the 17th annual Under the Lights Alumni/Community Cross Country Race Friday, Aug. 20, at 7:45 p.m. on the CHS trails.
This is a unique cross-country race run at night with staggered starting times. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. The race is 2.75-miles long and is for people of all ages. Categories include 50-years and older; 40-50; 30-40; 20-30; high school; eighth grade and under; and elite.
Participants can race as an individual or as part of a team. Teams can have up to five people, but must have at least three to score. Teams can be men’s, women’s, or coed. There is no entry fee. Runners start in various groups according to their age category. Each group starts one minute apart, so everyone has a fair chance of winning. Scoring will be by place, not time, and winners will receive Race T-shirts.
