HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Council of Catholic Women met on December 6, 2021 for their monthly meeting in the Parish Center.  There were four members and Deacon Al present.  We had three guests, former members, Jane Mitchell, Judy Fitzpatrick and Julie Codrey.

After our prayers, salute to the cross, flag and hymn, Deacon Al offered a blessing and we enjoyed a bag lunch.  Janet Barker also brought macaroni and cheese and chicken.

Following our lunch, Janet Barker conducted a brief business meeting. Alta Reardon read the minutes from the November meeting. Mary Grant gave the treasurer’s report. Alta Reardon also read a thank you for our donation to the Houlton Regional Hospital Festival of Trees.

Mary Grant gave an update on our wreath raffle project. Joe Fitzpatrick was the winner of the wreath, which was decorated with fifty one dollar bills and he donated it to the church. Birthdays for December were noted.

Prayers were gathered and Janet led in a decade of the Rosary. Following our business meeting, we held our annual Christmas party. A Yankee Swap was enjoyed by everyone. Our next meeting will be Feb. 7, at 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Center. We will be addressing Valentine cards for shut ins. All Catholic ladies are invited to attend.
