LINNEUS, Maine — The Linneus Recreation Department is holding its third annual sliding party on Saturday, Feb. 26, at 442 Drews Mills Road in Linneus from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event, held at the home of Tom and Rachel Horten, is free to any who wish to  participate. Chili, hot chocolate and some baked goods will be available at no charge.

Houlton Power Sports will provide two sleds to pull toboggans up the hill and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Linneus Snow Club will be open and offering lunch options, along with snowmobile demonstrations.

The club’s annual poker run is held on Sunday, Feb. 27.

“This year we’ve tried to get these groups together to make it a fun weekend event for all family members rather than holding separate events,” explained Heather Mitchell, one of the event organizers.
