Aroostook League names high school all stars

HOULTON, Maine — Basketball season may be over, but one more set of games will be played for a select group of senior high school players.

Forty schoolboys and schoolgirls seniors have been selected to participate in the Aroostook League’s annual Senior All-Star Game. All-Stars are selected based on nominations from coaches as well as input from local media representatives.

This year’s games will be played Wednesday, March 9, at Caribou High School with the girls game beginning at 5:30 p.m. followed by the boys game at 7 p.m. The Maine Dance Academy will perform at halftime of both games.

For schoolboy athletes, the following were selected to participate: Braeden Sargent, Caribou; Lucas Haines, Central Aroostook; Chase Coiley, Fort Fairfield; Collin Bennett and Austin Delisle, Fort Kent; Troy Hipsley and Caleb Nash, Hodgdon; Isaiah Gentle, Collin Moody and Caleb Solomon, Houlton; Justin Hurlbert, Katahdin; Adam Gendreau, Madawaska; Jackson Maynard, Xavier McAtee and Noah Yarema, Presque Isle; Southern Aroostook: Hunter Burpee, Christopher Caswell; Blake Martin, Van Buren; Beckam Vaughn, Washburn; and Carter Pelletier, Wisdom.

For schoolgirl athletes, the following were selected to participate: Gabrielle Sutherland and Mia Theriault, Caribou; Kylee Boyce, Easton; Camryn Ala, Eva Callioras and Sarah McShea, Fort Fairfield; Allie Morgan and Kassidy O’Leary, Fort Kent; Kaelyn Lawlor, and Monique Polchies, Hodgdon; Breanne Barton, Mia Henderson and Olivia Henderson, Houlton; Maizy Cullen and Makayla Hartsgrove, Katahdin; Courtney Kane, Sadie Lapointe and Faith Sjoberg, Presque Isle; Bre Daggett, Southern Aroostook; and Kylie Laplante, Van Buren.
