Towns prepare for annual meetings

The 2021 Town Reports are in. Residents can get a copy at the Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill Town Office located at 103 Pulcifur Rd., Mapleton.   Town residents may also go online at https://mapleton.me/ and download the report. will be available at the annual town meetings at the dates and times listed below.

Mapleton: Meeting and election will be Monday, March 14, 2022, at the Mapleton Lions Hall. Voting begins at 3 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m. The Mapleton town meeting will begin immediately following at 7 p.m.

Castle Hill: Meeting and election will be Tuesday, March 15, at the Mapleton, Castle Hill and Chapman Fire Station. Voting begins  at 3 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m. The Castle Hill town meeting will begin immediately following the close of voting at 7 p.m.

Chapman: Meeting and election will be Monday, March 21, at the Chapman Ridge Runners Clubhouse in Chapman. The local referendum vote (local liquor option) will begin at 3 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. The Chapman town meeting will immediately follow the referendum vote at 7 p.m.

Spaghetti drive-thru

The first spring event in Mapleton will be the Mapleton Daze drive-thru spaghetti dinner at the Mapleton Lions Hall, starting at 4:30 p.m. and will run until the food is gone or 6 p.m., whichever comes first.  

Mapleton Daze is scheduled to occur at the end of June as the first and largest event in Mapleton for the summer.  

The meal will consist of: spaghetti with the choice of meat sauce or just plain sauce with roll, a homemade dessert and a bottle of water and/or can of soda.  The Mapleton Daze committee will accept donations. They suggest a donation of $10 for each meal.

Spring Craft Fair

The Mapleton Daze Committee’s annual Spring Craft Fair & Vendor Sale will be held at Mapleton Elementary School on Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

Come and browse the venue filled with talented local people and get your gifts and other items just in time for Easter and Mother’s Day. There will be more than 20 crafters and vendors coming to the fair.  

Mark your calendars and plan to attend to support the 2022 Mapleton Daze.

Annual Lions Auction

The Mapleton Lions Club’s Annual Spring Auction returns this year.  Solicitation items and services for the auction have already begun.  

The auction will be hosted online by Matt Gregg Auctions.  Matt is an active member of the Mapleton Lions Club and is looking forward to this special fundraising event.  

Lions will be soliciting items and services through March and the online auction catalog will be listed on April 6.  Items will be added to the online catalog through April with the auction ending on May 6.  

There will be a preview of auction items from 4 to 6 p.m. on May 5 at the Mapleton Lions Hall, where purchased items in the auction may be picked up on May 7 beginning at 2 p.m.  

This has always been the major fundraiser for the Mapleton Lions Club.  Community residents support the club through the purchase of the goods and services donated to the club.
