From the Bunkers – Week of July 13, 2022

Last weekend we hosted the annual Houlton Alumni Golf Scramble. We had an amazing turnout.

At the end of the 9-hole tournament the Gross Champions were the team of Lexi Emerson, Ian Gervais, Grant Watt and Tyler Wheaton. The Net Champions were Sam Henderson, Tyler Putnam, Matt Day and Seth Dorr. Congratulations to all the winners and we thank everyone for coming out and supporting the Houlton Alumni Association.

Next Sunday we will hold our first Golf For Life Scramble of the year.  Please call the clubhouse to sign up for this extremely fun event.

Junior golf is still going strong. A big thank you to Dave Grant for putting this on every year. All the kids have a great time getting to know how to play the game of golf.  As a reminder each Monday from  8-10:30 a.m. the course will be closed to regular play to allow the next generation of golfers to play at their own pace.

Other upcoming events are a 4-person 18 scramble on July 23, and the Annual County Open 18-hole tournament on Aug. 13.  For a full list of upcoming events please visit

In our quest to recognize the many volunteers at Houlton Community Golf Course, our list brings us to Tammy and Doug Griffin. They have been great friends of HCGC for many years taking part in our volunteer days and helping out whenever needed.  Most recently they weeded and raked all of our sand bunkers!  Thanks Doug and Tammy for all of your help!

Houlton Community Golf Course is located on 6 Country Club Drive in New Limerick. For more information on the course call 532-2662, email or visit their website
