Henry takes lead for Loring Workforce Development Department

LIMESTONE, Maine — Kristen Henry has recently joined the Loring Job Corps team in Limestone, as the director of workforce development. Henry will oversee the career readiness and the career transitions areas of the center, which provide the training as well as resources for Loring  students to successfully obtain long term employment in the industry sectors they have received training in.

In addition to providing a bridge to employment, Henry will lead the team in training students the employability skills necessary to maintain long-term growth within any organization.

Henry brings to Loring multiple years of leadership and proven workforce strategies that will enhance the already nationally recognized programs. She was born in Maine, raised in South Carolina and  considers herself a person with a strong mix of Southern Hospitality and Yankee Ingenuity. Henry brings over a decade of experience in workforce development in non-profits as well as with economic development firms focused on the aerospace and automotive industries. 

She is passionate about development and success of others, as she loves engaging with, and assisting new organizations in her spare time. Henry, along with her husband and large blended family of seven children and three dogs, spend lots of love and attention revitalizing their 80-acre homestead in Grand Isle. She holds associate degrees in public service, accounting, and business management from Tri-County Technical College, and a bachelor’s degree in business and leadership from North Greenville University. Henry plans to attend University of Maine in Presque Isle to pursue a masters in organizational leadership.
