PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — As part of Presque Isle Historical Society’s 60th anniversary celebration in 2023, it is celebrating National Landline Telephone Day and invites the public to attend. The free celebration will take place on Friday, March 10 at 6 p.m. at the Maysville Museum at 165 Caribou Road.

To denote this unusual holiday, the Society will be giving interactive demonstrations of its working antique telephone switchboard.

Each month during the year, the Society will be holding a different event to celebrate its 60th anniversary. In January, a free virtual tour of the Maysville Museum went live on YouTube. For February, the Society is holding a grant writing workshop. These special anniversary events are in addition to the Society’s regularly scheduled tours and presentations. Stay tuned for additional events!
