VAN BUREN, Maine – Van Buren Regional Career and Technology Center is pleased to announce the 2023 CTE Student of the Year as Addion Davis.
Davis is a student that can be counted on consistently to achieve excellence not only in his CTE classes, but throughout his high school experience. He is a student enrolled in Accounting, Introduction to Business, and Microsoft Office to be a three-period completer of the Business Technology Program. Davis is remarkable in each class, but his superior work has shown significantly in him earning his Microsoft Office Specialist Certifications in both Word and PowerPoint. He is scheduled to also complete the Excel Certification before the end of the school year. Davis has also earned his OSHA 10-Hour Certification and will earn his associate’s degree in liberal studies before he finishes high school.
As part of his business course, students have studied the stock market and have participated in the stock market game challenges. This area piqued his interest in finance and allowed him another way to excel in the classroom. As a result of this challenge, Davis began purchasing his own stocks to benefit his future. He is an impressive young man with incredible drive and determination. His future will undoubtedly be a bright one. Congratulations! This is quite an accomplishment to achieve in your junior year!
