A woman found dead along the shore of the Penobscot River in April has been identified.

Amanda Haney, 37, was found April 7 in Hampden along the Penobscot River, Hampden Director of Public Safety Christian Bailey said Wednesday.

There is nothing suspicious about her death, Bailey said. The Office of Chief Medical Examiner has not determined an official cause of death, he said.

Haney was born in Houlton and graduated from Hodgdon High School and the University of Maine at Presque Isle, according to her obituary. Knitting, crocheting, creating art and spending time with family were important to her.
