Cary/Pines CEO to keynote Memorial Day ceremony

CARIBOU, Maine — Kris Doody, RN and chief executive officer at Cary Medical Center and Pines Health Services, will be the keynote speaker for the annual Memorial Day ceremonies at the Maine Veterans Cemetery in Caribou on Monday, May 27.  Doody, who has served as Cary’s CEO since 1999, has been a registered nurse for more than 40 years. Her father, the late Lee Doody, served a 39 year career with the Maine Army National Guard and the US Army Reserve.  He retired from the National Guard as a lieutenant colonel and was the longest standing commander of the 152nd Field Artillery Battalion. Doody’s brother, the late Wilbur Doody, served several tours of duty in Vietnam.

Over her years as CEO with Cary Medical Center, Kris Doody has been a strong advocate for veterans healthcare services. She has addressed the United States Congress in support of making healthcare services more accessible to veterans in rural areas. Doody was presented with the Chapel of Four Chaplains Award by the Vietnam Veterans of America. The ceremony at the Maine Veterans Cemetery will follow the annual Memorial Day parade, and a brief ceremony at the Veterans Memorial Park in Caribou. Ceremonies at the cemetery will begin at 1 p.m.
