To the editor:
I find the clown show called the Harris/Walz campaign embarrassing. They remind me of how kindergarten children act during recess. The thought of these two in charge of our country is frightening.
Harris was given a gift by being nominated without a single vote from the people. Then she chose Tim Walz for her running mate. His childish exuberance at their rallies does not exactly put one’s mind at ease knowing that he would be next in line for the presidency if Harris is elected and something happens to her.
The media is aware of his unusual behavior. Their answer is to show us how masculine he is. He hunts, fishes, coaches kids sports, etc. Real macho stuff. I personally would feel better if he decided to stay with his National Guard unit when it was deployed to Iraq.
In March 2025 his battalion was notified of a possible deployment to Iraq within two years. Walz retired on May 16, 2005. Official orders to deploy came in July 2005. In choosing to retire, he, in my opinion, deserted the people he trained and trained with. Is this kind of leader we want who may someday be second in line for the presidency and commander in chief of our military?
Harris is another story. An underachiever as vice-president, can we think she would perform any better as president? I would feel better if she had earned the nomination instead of having it handed to her. That she was, in effect, appointed, not voted in, to run for the highest office in America is just more evidence of the Democratic Party’s quest for party rule over people’s choice.
I believe the Democratic Party is leading us down the path to socialism. I’ll be happy to offer my reasoning in a future letter, not enough words left in this one. Until then I wouldn’t be offended if someone chooses to offer a different point of view.
