Why I support Freeman

To the editor:

I moved to The County from Seattle in 2021 to open the first Royal Leaf Apothecary store on Main Street in Presque Isle.  However, before I could move forward, I needed approval from the City Council, chaired by Kevin Freeman.  Unlike most towns in Aroostook County, Presque Isle took the forward-thinking step of allowing recreational cannabis sales. Even now, it remains one of only three municipalities in The County where such businesses are legal.

When I first arrived, many buildings were vacant, including the one I purchased for my store. Now, just two and a half years later, Main Street is thriving. Kevin’s decision to embrace cannabis sales has been a catalyst for the economic growth we see today. The empty buildings are now filled and Main Street is bustling.

As chair of the Downtown Revitalization Committee, I’ve witnessed Kevin’s dedication to boosting local businesses and creating community events. His pro-business mindset and vision for a vibrant future are why I’m voting for him to represent District 5 in the Maine State House. Kevin Freeman delivers real results.
