A fire that broke out Tuesday morning destroyed a single-family home in Mapleton.
The Mapleton, Castle Hill and Chapman Fire Department received a call at around 10:30 a.m. that a home at 11 Walker Siding Road was on fire, according to Fire Chief Adam Rider.
Staff called for mutual aid.
“Washburn Fire backed up our station, and we were on the scene probably five or six hours,” Rider said.
No one was home at the time, no pets were present and there were no injuries, he said.
The home was a total loss.
The cause of the fire is undetermined, and the owner’s name is not being shared out of respect for their loss, Rider said.
