HOULTON, Maine – A Houlton Police Department routine traffic stop netted a crystal meth and heroin trafficking arrest last week.
Danielle Ambrose, 32, of Houlton was charged with aggravated heroin trafficking, a class A felony and a probation violation. Peter Ambrose, 43, of Littleton, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a class D misdemeanor, police said in a report filed over the weekend.
Peter Ambrose, who was driving, was stopped on the North Road at about 8: 22 p.m. Oct. 27 by Houlton Police Officer Sera Smalley. Danielle Ambrose was a passenger.
During the traffic stop, police said they saw drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Both suspects and the vehicle were searched.
The investigations uncovered 5.74 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 10.76 grams of suspected heroin and /or fentanyl, according to police, adding that the drugs were seized.
According to the Department of Justice, 1 gram of heroin generally contains 10 single-dose glassine bags.
If convicted, Danielle Ambrose faces up to 30 years in prison and a maximum $50,000 penalty.
The investigation is ongoing.
