Wintergreen receives operations grant from Maine Arts Commission

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Wintergreen Arts Center recently received a $7,500 Organization Operations Grant from the Maine Arts Commission. This grant provides general operating support.

“We are extremely grateful for this funding from the Maine Arts Commission,” said Dottie Hutchins, Wintergreen’s executive director. “Their continued support helps us fulfill our mission to stimulate creativity and curiosity through the arts in Aroostook County.” 

In 2024 Wintergreen served over 3,970 family members through its creative preschool, after school arts program,  summer arts camps, signature holiday events and a variety of workshops. Wintergreen supports local artists through monthly gallery exhibitions and the Aroostook Creative Network, a unique partnership with the Maine Arts Commission. 

Maine Arts Commission is an independent state agency supported by the National Endowment for the Arts. By investing  in nonprofit arts organizations, the Commission aims to strengthen Maine’s arts sector, sustain vital infrastructure, and support the creative workforce across the state. The organization operations grant program will help sustain operations  and ensure the continued vibrancy of Maine’s arts community. 

The Wintergreen Arts Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2006, and located in Presque Isle, Maine. Wintergreen is an organization based on the idea that creativity, advocacy, and community can produce great things. Our mission is to stimulate creativity and curiosity through the arts in Aroostook County.
