Napoli named East Grand valedictorian

East Grand School is proud to announce Ashlyn Napoli as the valedictorian of the class of 2025.

A student known for her strong work ethic, respectful character, and hands-on engagement in learning, Ashlyn embodies the values East Grand strives to foster in every student, school officials said.

Napoli has been a standout in the culinary arts program at Region Two School of Applied Technology, where her dedication and professionalism earned her recognition as Student of the Quarter. Her time in the kitchen has been more than just about cooking — it’s been about building skills, confidence, and a vision for her future.

Beyond the classroom, she participated in this year’s basketball season and was honored with the Citizenship Award during her junior year, a recognition presented by Mr. Apgar for students who model integrity and contribute positively to the school culture.

Napoli was also recently named East Grand’s recipient of the 2025 MPA Principal’s Award, presented by the Maine Principals’ Association in recognition of academic excellence and citizenship.

“Ashlyn is a leader in the classroom and a role model in the school community,” said Principal Muir. “She consistently demonstrates maturity, kindness, and a strong sense of purpose. She very much deserves this recognition.”

Napoli, Muir and other honorees from across the state attended the MPA Honors Luncheon in Brewer last month. The event celebrated top seniors from more than 100 Maine high schools and included the presentation of individual plaques and several scholarships.

After graduation, Napoli plans to continue her culinary education at Eastern Maine Community College, with the goal of turning her passion into a meaningful career built around hospitality and community.

As East Grand’s valedictorian, Napoli is a clear example of what’s possible when students set goals, stay grounded, and work hard — both in and out of the classroom.
