Hospice foundation holds annual dedication

The Aroostook Hospice Foundation hosted its annual Remembrance Way Memorial Garden and Pathway dedication ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle.

The touching event was held at the gazebo and brought together families and  friends to honor the memory of their loved ones.

This year’s ceremony featured the dedication of 24 new stones, three benches and two gardens, each thoughtfully personalized to celebrate the lives and legacies they represent. The gathering included heartfelt moments of music, reflection and fellowship, with red and white roses placed at each newly dedicated site as a timeless symbol of love and remembrance.

“The Remembrance Way is more than just a garden and walkway, it is a place of healing, hope, and connection,” said Abbey Clair, executive  director of the Aroostook Hospice Foundation. “Each dedication carries a story, and it’s an honor to provide families with a space where  their loved ones’ memories are celebrated and preserved.”

The Remembrance Way Memorial Garden and Pathway is a deeply meaningful tribute and a vital part of the Aroostook House of Comfort’s  mission.

As a nonprofit organization, the Aroostook Hospice Foundation relies on community support and donations to fund its  compassionate care services, operational costs, and Charity Care funding. Fundraising efforts like the Remembrance Way Dedication, Golf  Classic, and Walk for Hospice ensure the sustainability of their services and mission.
