This season’s Hodgdon Middle School soccer teams have a special connection beyond the field: nine players share the same family roots.
The boys’ team includes three cousins, while the girls’ team includes six cousins.
Their parents are the sons and daughters of two Sloat brothers, Richard (wife Jean) and Arthur (wife Mim), who are themselves the sons of Doug and Marion Sloat. The late Doug and Marion were the great-grandparents at the heart of this remarkable family team.
It’s a special year for these nine soccer players, who are joined not only by the sport but by a family tree that all leads back to the Sloats.
