The No. 5-seeded Wildcats pulled out the 2-1 prelim playoff victory over the No.-12 seeded Foxcroft Academy Ponies on Saturday, Oct. 25, and move on to the Boys Class B North quarterfinals.
The game was at the Johnson Athletic Complex in Presque Isle.
The Wildcats got on the board with a little over 10 minutes remaining in the first half when a corner kick by Isaac Gogain was knocked down by the Ponies’ goalie, and Eli Mosher shot the loose ball into the net.
The lead was short-lived, as only 28 seconds later, Foxcroft Academy’s Beckham Ade passed to Ludovico Barosi, who beat the Wildcat keeper for the 1-1 tie.
Midway through the second half, a long throw in by Bodey McPherson of the Wildcats found the foot of Brandon Porter, who finished for the 2-1 lead. Neither team was able to score again, and the Wildcats pull out the 2-1 victory.
