Shaw named Maine AHPERD Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year

EASTON, Maine — The Easton School Department is proud to announce that Bryan Shaw, Easton School Department’s physical education and health teacher, has been named the Maine Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year. 

Shaw and his wife Stacy attended the annual Maine AHPERD awards ceremony held at the Samoset Resort, where he was formally recognized for his outstanding contributions to the health and physical education field. 

Since joining Easton Schools in 2013 Shaw has served students in both the elementary and high school buildings, inspiring them daily through movement, teamwork and lifelong wellness. His creative and engaging approach to physical education and health has fostered a love of activity and well-being among students of all ages. 

“Mr. Shaw wants to see all kids succeed and reach their full potential regardless of their athletic ability,” said Principal Laura Hunter. “He creates an environment where every student feels valued and encouraged to be their best self. We are incredibly proud to have him representing Easton and the state of Maine with this honor.” 

The Easton School Department extends heartfelt congratulations to Shaw on this well-deserved honor. His recognition as Maine AHPERD’s Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year highlights his exceptional dedication to the students and community of Easton.
