High pressure builds in today as the low pressure over Labrador moves away to the northeast, bringing mostly quiet weather to the Saint John Valley today. Most communities will see highs in the low-to-mid-30s today. Tonight, partly cloudy skies and chilly conditions dominate with lows falling into the mid-to-upper teens.
Thursday stays mostly sunny and tranquil as high pressure settles over the region. Winds become light and variable, and temperatures rise into the mid-30s north across the St. John Valley. Clouds move in from the west by evening as an occluded front approaches.
From Thursday night into Friday night, clouds continue to thicken ahead of a slow-moving occluded front. Friday brings a mix of light snow and rain to the Valley by afternoon changing to light snow in the evening. The front moves through Friday night, with light snow likely for most Valley locations that gradually diminishes overnight. Lows Thursday night in the lower 20s. Highs Friday in the upper 30s, and temperatures in the mid-20s Friday night.
Saturday-Tuesday
An upper-level disturbance will move across northern Maine on Saturday, bringing a chance for some early snow showers. A coastal storm may develop offshore at the same time, but its exact track is still uncertain. For the Saint John Valley, most of the precipitation on Saturday will depend more on the disturbance overhead than the offshore storm, so any snow that does fall should be light and mainly during the first half of the day. Highs in the low-to-mid-30s for most locations.
High pressure builds in Saturday night, bringing partly cloudy conditions with overnight low in the 15–20-degree range. Sunday will be partly sunny and quiet to start, but clouds increase during the evening as a warm front approaches from the southwest. Light precipitation is possible Sunday night, falling mainly as light snow or snow showers across northern Maine.
The warm front moves through on Monday, bringing periods of light precipitation—likely a mix of snow and rain showers. A few stray snow showers may continue into Monday night. Another upper-level disturbance could cross the region on Tuesday, keeping skies partly sunny to mostly cloudy with gradually decreasing chances for rain and/or snow showers.
Temperatures Sunday in the low-to-mid-30s with overnight low in the lower 20s across the Valley. Highs Monday in the mid-30s with lows in the low-to-mid-20s. Highs Tuesday in the middle 30s with overnight lows generally in the lower 20s.
