Presque Isle continues to be served proudly by JetBlue with daily flights to and from Boston Logan International Airport, an essential link between Aroostook County and the National Air Transportation System.
As many residents have heard, JetBlue and United Airlines announced their Blue Sky partnership last year. While the partnership has begun rolling out in phases across the airlines’ networks, the ability for Presque Isle passengers to seamlessly connect from JetBlue in Boston directly onto United flights under a fully integrated booking platform has not yet been implemented.
That expanded connectivity is expected to be available in the coming weeks.
What this will mean
Once fully activated for our market, the partnership will significantly enhance the value of our daily Boston service.
Business travelers will be able to book single-ticket itineraries connecting through Boston to United hubs such as Chicago, Denver, Houston, Newark, and Washington Dulles — with access to United’s extensive domestic and international network beyond those cities.
Leisure travelers will gain easier access to destinations throughout the Mountain West, Midwest, Southeast, and to international locations served by United’s global gateways.
Importantly, these itineraries are expected to include coordinated scheduling and through-checked baggage, eliminating the need to exit security in Boston to retrieve and recheck luggage when traveling on a combined reservation.
Phased implementation
Airline partnerships of this scale require complex coordination involving reservation systems, baggage agreements, loyalty program alignment, and schedule integration. While certain elements of the JetBlue–United agreement are already active including integration of the two loyalty programs, full functionality for Presque Isle-originating itineraries is still in the final stages of implementation.
We anticipate that within the next several weeks, passengers departing Presque Isle will begin seeing expanded United connection options available directly through JetBlue booking channels.
As soon as that capability is live and bookable for our community, we will communicate the update broadly.
Service continues
In the meantime, JetBlue continues to provide the reliable daily Boston connection that our region depends upon. That daily Boston flight remains the foundation of our community’s access to the national air system.
Looking ahead
The Blue Sky partnership represents a meaningful future enhancement for Aroostook County travelers. While full United connectivity from Presque Isle is not yet active, the final steps are underway.
When implemented, this partnership will expand destination options, improve booking convenience, and increase the overall value of our local air service.
We look forward to sharing further updates very soon.
