A fire has closed part of Route 1 in Westfield, fire officials said.
A brush fire traveled across Houlton Road and part of the roadway between Burleigh and Shorey roads was closed around 4:15 p.m., according to New England Compass 511, an incident alert system.
Presque Isle fire crews were providing mutual aid to the Mars Hill Fire Department at the scene, department officials said at around 4:30 p.m.
Motorists should be cautious because the road may be blocked, the department said on social media.
Mars Hill fire officials were unavailable for comment. As of 6:10 p.m., road workers directed traffic east to Burleigh Road.
No further information was immediately available.
