University of Maine Cooperative Extension will host a workshop on apple tree pruning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 25 in Fort Kent and Wallagrass.
The hands-on workshop will begin at the University of Maine at Fort Kent greenhouse on Armory Road, with parking available in the new Pleasant Street lot. UMaine Extension Fruit Tree Specialist Renea Moran will lead a tour of three home-scale orchards, teaching participants how to prune mature apple trees to maintain their health and boost fruit production.
