PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Wintergreen Arts Center will feature the work of Kevin Luckham during the month of May. The opening reception of Luckham’s show will be held Friday evening, May 1 from 6-7:45 p.m., during Presque Isle’s First Friday Art Night. Join Wintergreen for art, live music and light refreshments.
Luckham is an artist working at the crossroads of storytelling and nostalgia. His work channels the salty tides of the Chesapeake Bay where he grew up, as well as the corporate confines of Manhattan where he studied graphic design and animation.
Working in a wide range of mediums and techniques, he builds images that feel unearthed rather than created. Illustrated fragments of stories that refuse to stay buried.
“Kevin’s work is really wonderful and expressive,” says Executive Director Ally Midgley. “We are so excited to be able to welcome some of his pieces to Wintergreen for the month of May!”
First Friday Art Night will be held at the Wintergreen Arts Center at 830 Main St. at the Aroostook Center Mall in Presque Isle. This event is free and open to the public.
