To the editor:
The signs of King Donald’s simple-mindedness have been showing up more and more. If you believe like me that partnering with like-minded democracies makes America a safer place in a dangerous world, then his foreign policies are bizarre because they are anti-American.
For example, in a bow to Vladimir Putin, he stopped direct American aid to Ukraine in its fight against Russia. His embrace of Vladimir Putin should make every American wonder why he supports a Russian dictator. Then, he ousted the dictator in Venezuela but left the dictator’s cronies in charge. Then, he fractured NATO as he tried to bully Denmark into giving him Greenland. And now, after Israel wagged its tail, he started a war with Iran and got America trapped in a box.
The Republicans in Congress should have questions about Trump’s bizarre and simple-minded behavior. But where are their voices? Most Republicans, including our Republican senator, enable King Donald by their silence. Where is their sense of duty, honor and country? All Americans should be fed up with the self-serving and self-worshiping rule of King Donald.
In the upcoming 2026 elections, just voting anti-Trump will not be enough. All voters should seriously consider only candidates who vow to support universal health care such as Medicare for all. The provision of health care for all Americans would truly be a “Liberation Day” for young Americans and small businesses. Health care for every American is the essential first step in restoring upward mobility and the American dream.
