Educational program on ranked-choice voting

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — On Tuesday, June 9, primary elections will be held in Maine. Voting in Presque Isle will take place at the Sargent Family Community Center located at 24 Chapman Road from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The election ballot does include ranked-choice voting.

Sample ballots may be viewed at the City Clerk’s Office at Presque Isle City Hall, 12 Second St, 21 days prior to the election. Absentee ballots will be available beginning by May 11. On Thursday, May 14 Vanessa Diaz Gaumond from the Maine Secretary of State Department will be in Presque Isle to provide a non-partisan educational program about how ranked-choice voting works. The program will include a mock election that attendees may try.  The presentation will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Turner Memorial Library.
