The Aroostook Hospice Foundation recently received generous donor advised funding through the Maine Community Foundation in support of its Charity Care Patient Assistance Fund.
The Foundation received a $15,000 contribution from the Willey Family Foundation as part of its five year pledge commitment connected to the naming of Suite 4 at the Aroostook House of Comfort. The gift was designated toward Charity Care. In addition, the Foundation received a $1,000 contribution from the Mimi Fund.
The Charity Care Patient Assistance Fund helps provide financial assistance for eligible patients receiving care at the Aroostook House of Comfort, helping ensure access to compassionate, dignified end of life care regardless of financial circumstances.
“We are incredibly grateful for this meaningful generosity through the Maine Community Foundation and these heartfelt gifts,” said Abbey Clair. “Support for Charity Care directly impacts patients and families during some of life’s most difficult moments and helps ensure this care remains available for all within our community.”
The Aroostook House of Comfort is the only inpatient hospice home serving patients and families across Northern Maine. Operated through a partnership between the Aroostook Hospice Foundation and Northern Light Home Care & Hospice, the home provides compassionate end of life care in a peaceful, home like setting. Community philanthropy remains essential in sustaining the Charity Care program and helping ensure patients and families can receive care when it is needed most.
The Aroostook Hospice Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to all who continue to believe in and invest in its mission.
