The heritage vivant  — Acadian Village of Van Buren and Fresh Trails Adventures — will host the fifth annual Acadian Village Gravel Ride dedicated to Ron and Sim Michaud.

The event, slated Saturday, July 18, recognizes the 50th anniversary of the Acadian Village.

The Michauds’ enthusiasm, energy and commitment to one another, their community, health and fitness and an active lifestyle was and is remarkable and unmatched. To this day they inspire many.  The Saint John Valley, Van Buren and the Franco-American culture carry their legacy forward.

The event starts at the village, with breakfast and registration between 8 and 9 a.m. There will also be a brief dedication to Ron and Sim at 9 a.m. with many of their family and friends present to honor them.

Riders will depart at 9:15 a.m. The new and improved 20- or 25-mile loop is manageable, fun and safe (with less climbing) to ensure an enjoyable experience.

Lunch will be served after the ride.

Registration is $80 and includes breakfast, lunch and a T-shirt. All proceeds will go to the Acadian Village.
