Rockin’ on Riverside raises $5K for paid call fire department

Despite periods of rain, the community came together in full force on Thursday, July 30, for Rockin’ on Riverside.  This year, the popular event served as a benefit concert to support the Presque Isle Paid Call Fire Department.

Hundreds of attendees raised nearly $5,000 to benefit the department.

The funds raised will help support the Presque Isle volunteer fire department’s ongoing efforts to boost community projects, fire prevention education and scholarships for local high school students.

Although weather threatened portions of the evening and required a last-minute venue change, families, friends and visitors gathered to enjoy live music, great food and the opportunity to support the volunteer firefighters who serve the community year-round.

The evening featured live music by the Star City Syndicate, whose high-energy performance kept the crowd entertained, and concluded with an indoor movie night at the community center. More than a dozen local food vendors and community vendors were also on site, offering ood and refreshments.

“The Star City Syndicate had an absolute blast at the Rocking On Riverside concert,” an unidentified band member said. “Our sincere thanks go out to the PIFD and the event-organizer for putting together such a fun experience.  From the food trucks to the dancers, it was a fantastic evening.”

“Rockin’ on Riverside was a genuine success, and it was wonderful to see the community come out and enjoy the festivities,” said Emerson Wright, President of the Presque Isle Paid Call Fire Department. “We were blown away by the generosity and support we received.”

The Presque Isle Fire Department would like to give special thanks to local businesses and organizations for helping make the concert a success. Event organizers also extend their sincere appreciation to everyone who attended volunteered, and helped bring this festival to life.
