With the 4th Annual Walk for Hospice just over a month away, the Aroostook Hospice Foundation recognized Greenlaw Electric LLC as the returning event sponsor with a $5,000 contribution in support of this year’s walk.
The Walk for Hospice will take place Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at the Caribou High School Track and Trails. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and the walk at 9 a.m.
One of the foundation’s largest annual fundraisers, the event brings together individuals, families, businesses, organization, and teams from throughout Aroostook County to support the Aroostook House of Comfort, the only inpatient hospice home north of Rockport.
Michael Greenlaw, owner of Greenlaw Electric in Fort Fairfield, recently presented the $5,000 sponsorship check to Aroostook Hospice Foundation Executive Director Abbey Clair at the Aroostook House of Comfort.
“Greenlaw Electric is a small business located in Fort Fairfield, Maine. I believe it is very important for a successful business to give back to the community in which we live and help in any way we can,” Greenlaw said. “The Walk for Hospice is a great opportunity to do exactly that. The Aroostook House of Comfort is such an important part of our community and impacts so many families’ lives when they need it most.”
Last year’s Walk raised more than $68,000, demonstrating the tremendous impact that participants, fundraisers, sponsors and donors can make together.
This year’s Walk will once again be held in loving memory of Dr. David Jones, a longtime physician, hospice medical director, foundation board member and advocate for hospice care in Aroostook County.
The Walk is noncompetitive and welcoming to participants of all ages and abilities, with both the Caribou High School track and surrounding trails available. Participants may register individually or create or join a team, and are encouraged to extend their impact through individual or team fundraising.
With September 19 approaching, there is still time to get involved. Registration, peer-to-peer fundraising and sponsorship opportunities remain open for individuals, families, businesses and organizations wishing to support the Walk and the Aroostook House of Comfort.
