earns CFP(r) rating
PRESQUE ISLE — Scott Violette of Barresi Financial, a full service insurance and investment brokerage agency with offices in Presque Isle and Bangor, recently achieved his CFP(r) or certified financial planner designation.
“We feel it is important for our employees to have the expertise necessary to help our clients. The CFP(r) designation is one of the toughest to get and shows Scott’s strong dedication to his profession. Making sure that our clients are taken care of now and into the future is very important to our firm and this achievement helps show our commitment to that process” said Marcus Barresi, founder of the firm.
“Scott moved back to Presque Isle in 2007 to work with our existing clients while developing his own relationships as well. Our firm has always had a holistic approach to taking care of clients, focusing not just on investments or retirement planning, but also on risk management, business planning, estate planning, and income protection. Scott, almost immediately recognized the need for a broad level of education and decided to take on the task of getting his CFP(r) designation which required 18 months of course work and another four months of studying for the exam,” said Barresi.
Violette’s role will be to continue to service retirement plans, work with existing individual and business clients, and to expand more into new client acquisition.
“I have learned a lot working with Marcus over the last three years and through the extensive training for this designation. I moved back to northern Maine with the intention of making this my lifelong career and felt that a strong knowledge base was critical to building trust with my clients. The course work and preparing for the 10-hour exam was not easy, but was certainly rewarding,” said Violette.
This designation and the dedication it took to achieve it is no small thing, according to Nathan Berry, president of Barresi Financial. “The CFP(r) designation is a great achievement, as Scott will be one of a few to have achieved it north of Bangor. This fits in very well with our business motto, ‘Expertise with Integrity’, and helps to show our dedication to providing the best possible client relationship.
