PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The University of Maine at Presque Isle men’s basketball team has earned the No. 2 seed in the American Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Basketball Championships.
The Owls, who currently hold an 11-12 record, will face off against the University of Valley Forge (3-12) in the opening round of the tournament, which will be played at Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, Feb. 24 and 25.
UMPI plays its first-round game at 2 p.m. on Feb. 24. A victory will match the Owls up with the winner of the No. 1 Alfred State-No. 4 Pine Manor semifinal. The championship game is set for Feb. 25 at noon.
“Our guys have had a great regular season,” said Dan Kane, first-year head coach of the Owls. “We are excited to represent our school in the ACAA Tournament and compete to bring home a conference title.”
