Bonville and Bearden win awards
SAN ANTONIO, Texas — Casey Bonville, Miss Maine High School, and Brittany Bearden, Miss Maine Collegiate, did not come home from the national pageant in Texas with the crown but they did win top awards.

Casey Bonville, left, and Brittany Bearden, both of Presque Isle, recently competed in a national pageant in San Antonio, Texas.
Bonville, who is a senior at Presque Isle High School, won the overall photogenic and top fashion runway awards in the high school division. Bearden, who is a junior at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, won the top fashion runway award for collegiate non-finalists.
In addition to the pageant the week was filled with activities for the contestants. They enjoyed a Texas-style welcome at a dude ranch, complete with wagon ride, dinner and line dancing.
The girls toured the Alamo, had an autograph session and dined on the famous River Walk. They also visited Sea World and attended a banquet with silent auction to raise money for the Miss High School/Collegiate America Scholarship Pageant.
The last two days were all about rehearsals, the prelims and final competition.
