Senior citizens gather for annual picnic

Star City Senior Citizens’ annual picnic with all other senior groups was held recently, with 25 visitors and 28 members present.
Great music was provided by Merry Makers before and after lunch.     President Betty Wilson welcomed everyone. The table blessing was given by Vice President Donna Devoe. Good food and a lot of fun was enjoyed by all.
All interested senior citizens are encouraged to attend club meetings. Star City Seniors meet every Thursday at the V.F.W. on Parsons Street, with lunch at noon. Seniors from 50 on are welcome.
Seniors met July 25 at the VFW for potluck luncheon. We had 30 members attend and no guests. The sick members are: Granville and Marie Lamb, Bea Wasson, Ella Drost and Violet Frasier. Delores Brown said the table blessing then we all enjoyed a potluck luncheon.
Vice President Donna Devoe opened the meeting with the “Lord’s Prayer,” flag salute and one verse of “America.”
Then we had a moment of silence for Don Brown who was a member of the club who passed on.
Vice President Donna Devoe gave the secretary’s report, because of the absence of Delores Brown at the picnic.
Treasurer Jean Easler gave her report regarding the picnic last week.
The meeting was dismissed by vote to play Bingo. See ya all next week. Bring things for our Bingo.
