PRESQUE ISLE — A fire Thursday morning temporarily shut down a Main Street eatery.
“The Presque Isle Fire Department received a report of a kitchen fire at Theresa’s Corner Cafe & Bakery at 299 Main St. on Sept. 5. The call came in around 8:24 a.m.,” said Deputy Chief Adam Rider, of the PIFD.
Two trucks and about 12 firefighters responded to the call.
“Upon arrival, we found a small grease fire in the kitchen. We were on scene about 45 minutes — back at the station by about 9:10 a.m.,” said Rider.
Rider said there was no serious damage to the kitchen or the structure.
“Damage was minimal. The health inspector was on site once the fire was out to do an inspection,” said Rider, adding the restaurant was expected to open once the inspection was completed.
No injuries were reported. The Presque Isle Police Department assisted with traffic control.
