HOULTON, Maine — Houlton town officials are reminding residents that there are several options for voting in the upcoming November election.

The polls will open at the Gentle Memorial Building Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. to cast ballots for local town council and school board representatives.

For those who wish to vote by an absentee ballot, however, a request must be submitted to the town office by 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28. Ballots can be obtained calling the town office at 207-532-7111 and requesting it be mailed; voters can request an absentee ballot on the Secretary of State’s Absentee Ballot Request Service (https://www.maine.gov/sos/ele/upcoming); a voter or their immediate family member can walk into the Town Office to request a ballot to take home; or voters can fill out an absentee ballot at the town office.

The Houlton Town Office, located at 21 Water St., is open Mondays through Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. On Thursday, Oct. 28, the office will remain open until 6 p.m.

Ballots can be deposited in the drop box on the front of the town office or may be brought to the polls on Nov. 2.
