Easton Junior Senior HIgh School honor parts for 2023

EASTON, Maine — The principal of Easton Junior Senior High School, Laura Hunter, is pleased to announce the honor parts for the graduation ceremonies of the Class of 2023. The graduation ceremony will be held on Friday, June 9 at 6:30 p.m.

Valedictorian Jenna Cochran is the granddaughter of Faith and Stephen Cochran. She has consistently been on the highest honor roll. She was the girls varsity soccer captain and received the All-Aroostook Award twice and the Regional All-Star team recognition this past season. She is an active member of NHS, Spanish Club, yearbook, Wellness Team, and Envirothon. Jenna is currently the Student Council president as well as the Varsity Club president. Throughout high school she has been a cheerleading and gymnastics coach at All-Star Gymnastics. She also works the harvest for Currie Chemical Company. Jenna has enjoyed volunteering with the Easton Recreation Department and the Elk’s Soccer Program. Jenna will be attending the University of Maine to study biology with a pre-medicine concentration with the goal of becoming a physician assistant. 

Salutatorian Logan Bernier is the daughter of Cole Bernier and Leane Saucier. Logan has made highest honors all four years of high school. She has been a four year member of the Spanish Club and Wellness Team. Logan participated in track and field and volleyball during her freshman year. Logan was the class treasurer in grade 9 and has been the class secretary for the past two years. Logan was named Student of the Month during her junior year of high school. Logan has been an active tutor for Easton students and also has volunteered at Leisure Garden. Logan has earned a certification as a nursing assistant through the Health & Medical Sciences Program at Caribou Tech Center. Logan also has earned 26 college credits while being a student at Easton Jr/Sr High School through dual enrollment opportunities. Logan plans to attend Northern Maine Community College to study nursing before seeking further education at the University of Maine at Fort Kent.

First honor essayist Emily Jackson is the daughter of Brandi Saucier, Doug Cyr, and Peter Saucier. Emily attended Easton Jr/Sr High School during her junior and senior years. Emily has served as the class treasurer for the past two years. Emily has made highest honors during her time at EHS. Emily has been involved with the Wellness Team and Varsity Club, being an active participant in both. Emily played varsity girls soccer during her senior year. Emily has earned a certification as a nursing assistant through the Health & Medical Sciences Program at Caribou Tech Center. Emily also has earned 20 college credits while being a student at Easton Jr/Sr High School through dual enrollment opportunities. Emily plans to attend Northern Maine Community College to study nursing and then attend the University of Maine at Fort Kent to receive her bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Second honor essayist Grace Flewelling is the daughter of Brent Flewelling and Sandy Daigle. Grace has been active in clubs and athletics during her time at Easton Jr/Sr High School. Grace participated in volleyball, varsity basketball and varsity soccer. Grace was a varsity soccer captain during her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Grace has also been a member of the Easton Varsity Club and Wellness Team for three years. Grace was a member of the Student Council for two years. Grace has been active in the Spanish Club and was the president of the club for two years. Grace has been an active volunteer in the community as well, she has helped with Easton Field Days and with different activities with the Easton Rec Department. Grace has earned a certification as a nursing assistant through the Health & Medical Sciences Program at Caribou Tech Center. Grace also has earned 26 college credits while being a student at Easton Jr/Sr High School through dual enrollment opportunities. Grace plans to attend Northern Maine Community College to study nursing. She then plans to get her BSN and become a traveling nurse.
