Easton youth honored

    The local clergy conducted baccalaureate services at Easton Jr/Sr High School on June 1.
Participating pastors were: Pastor Jason Coffman from the Easton Wesleyan Church, Pastor Greg Jackson with the United Baptist Church and Pastor Granville Lamb with the New Song Church. Pastor Merritt Durost gave the baccalaureate address.

Class Night

    Class Night was held at Easton Jr/Sr High School on June 4.
Senior Marshals Cassandra Buck and Mariah Cyr escorted all four classes into the gymnasium. Accompanist Pamela Kinsey provided the “Pomp and Circumstance.”
Class president remarks were made by Elise Allen (Class of 2017), Drew Sotomayor (Class of 2016) and Ashley Hersey (Class of 2015).
Colby Pangburn and Ian Sotomayor gave class gifts. Mariah Cyr, Stephanie Hammond, Katelyn Tompkins and Cameron Young presented the class history.
The faculty made presentations to students who achieved the highest level of proficiency across the curriculum. Mrs. Pamela Kinsey presented All-Aroostook Awards for Chorus to: Kelsey Frank, Kristen West, Macey Currier and Brandon Hosford. Frank and Hosford received the All Aroostook Band Award. The District Jazz Choir Solo Certificate was presented to Hannah Ferris. State Jazz Choir Solo Certificates were presented to Hannah Ferris and Cassandra Buck. Buck also received the Outstanding Musician Award, Third Year Ribbon Medal and the Jazz Choir Award. A First Year Letter with Lyre Pin was presented to Hunter Turner, Hannah Ferris, Cody Halvorson and Brandon Hosford. A Second Year Treble Clef Pin was presented to Kelsey Frank. The Chorus Award was presented to Haley Ambrose. The Band Award went to Turner.
Mrs. Polly Tateishi presented the Grade 9 Writing Award to Elise Allen and 11/12 English to Colby Pangburn.
Mr. Darren West presented Social Studies Awards to: Ashley Hersey, Madison Leach , Ashley Hersey, Abigail Currier, Emma Bonner, Emma Bonner and Madison Shaw.  May Student of the Month was presented to Connor Burtt.
Mr. Paul Sutherland presented Math Awards to: Katelyn White, Jacob Flewelling, Madison Leach, Ashley Hersey, Hunter Turner and Ashley Hersey. Sutherland also presented the art awards on behalf of Ms. Jane Hutchison. The Art I Award was presented to Alexandra Allen, the Art II award went to Brian Corbin and the Art III recipient was Katelyn Tompkins.
Mr. Bryan Wright presented science awards to: Breann Clayton, Haley Ambrose, Hunter Turner, Toria Tarbox, Ashley Hersey and Kerrigan Arnett.
Ms. Michelle Moreau awarded pins to French students: Breann Clayton, Drew Sotomayor and Kelsey Frank.
Mr. Bryan Shaw presented the awards for physical education to: Elise Allen, Hunter Brown, Emma Bonner, Logan Halvorson, Abigail Currier, Jacob Flewelling, Kalie Ward and Cameron Young. National Fitness Awards were presented to: Jacob Flewelling, Hunter Brown, Logan Halvorson and Macey Currier. The Presidential Fitness Award was presented to Drew Sotomayor.
Mrs. Melissa Smith presented the English awards to: Breann Clayton, Emma Bonner and Alexandra Allen. Smith also recognized the following members of the Student Council with certificates: Haley Ambrose, Hunter Turner, Ian Sotomayor, Ashley Hersey, Connor Burtt, Nicholas Clark, Drew Sotomayor, Blake Bradley, Logan Halvorson, Elise Allen, Abigail Currier and Hunter Brown.
Miss Pamela Murchison presented the  business education awards: Ian Sotomayor, Kerrigan Arnett, Emma Bonner and Kristen West. Cassandra Buck received the Yearbook Editor Award. The Following National Honor Society officers also received awards: Northern Region President, Cameron Young, and Chapter President, Cassandra Buck.
Mrs. Ellen Trask presented the College Biology award to Emma Bonner. Haley Ambrose was the recipient of the Environmental Studies Award. Envirothon Team Certificates were presented to: Haley Ambrose, Katelyn Tompkins, Ian Sotomayor, Logan Dickinson, Joshuah Salkind, Blake Bradley, Kristen West, Abigail Thompson, Taylor Brown and Caitlin Monroe.
Sgt. Holmes with the United States Army Reserves presented the National Scholar/Athlete Awards to Cassandra Buck and Hunter Turner.
Principal Cameron Adams presented the United States Marine Corps Scholastic Excellence Awards to Haley Ambrose and Joshuah Salkind. Buck and Turner received the United States Marine Corps Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence. They were also both awarded the Distinguished Athlete Award. Turner received the Maine Principals’ Award. The Willis A. McPherson Award was presented to Ian Sotomayor and Turner received the Outstanding School Citizen Award.
