OAKFIELD, Maine — Following a high-speed chase, an Aroostook County teen, allegedly driving a vehicle stolen from Mars Hill, landed in a ditch on Saturday along River Road in Oakfield, according to Maine State Police.

At about 6:15 p.m. a Maine State Police trooper attempted to stop a 2019 Dodge Challenger that had been reported stolen from Mars Hill, but the driver, a juvenile, refused to stop, said Shannon Moss, Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson.

The teen continued to travel south while speeding, Moss said.

Assisting in the chase, the Houlton Police Department deployed a tire deflation device and the Challenger eventually veered off the roadway and into the River Road ditch.

The driver had minor injuries.

He was charged with driving to endanger, vehicle theft and passing a roadblock, according to police.

Because the driver is a juvenile, no additional details will be released, Moss said.
