The Limestone Rotary Club recently recognized five local community members with a Service Above Self Award.
The recipients were Mary Amuzzini, Paul Beaulieu, Steve and Diane Brooker and Charlie Hartman, all residents of the Limestone and Caswell area.
The awards were given to recognize them for outstanding dedication and service to their community, Limestone Rotary President Grace O’Neal said.
Amuzzini has served as treasurer for the Limestone Chamber of Commerce and Loring Development Foundation board for 21 years.
She also provides ongoing care and support for members of the Assembly of God or other community members that she just “knows” need a little “extra help,” O’Neal said.

Beaulieu, an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Limestone/Caswell Historical Society, is also a volunteer firefighter.
Additionally, he volunteered to put together the newly purchased playground for Albert Michaud Memorial Park and also volunteers at Catholic Charities Maine.

The Brookers have put in countless hours to keep the St. Louis Catholic Church accessible and available during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond.
They have replaced the windows and the furnace, volunteer at the St. Louis Ecumenical Food Pantry and organize the church’s annual harvest supper.

Hartman launched and manages the food pantry at Limestone Community School, which is available to students and their families at both the Limestone school and the Dawn F. Barnes Elementary School in Caswell.
He also supports the students in various capacities by delivering lunches, substitute teaching and serving on the school board.
