PRESQUE ISLE – City Council, at their Monday night meeting, dedicated the 2006 Annual Report to Hugo A. Olore, Jr., longtime solicitor for the city of Presque Isle.

THE 2006 ANNUAL Report for the city of Presque Isle was dedicated to Hugo A. Olore, Jr., during the Oct. 15 session of City Council. Presenting a framed statement to Olore is Council Chairman Walt Elish, at left. Olore has served the legal needs of the city for over 40 years.
“This is a special evening. We’re honoring Hugo for his dedicated service to the city of Presque Isle,” said Walt Elish, Council chairman. “He’s been a servant of the city for more year’s than he’d care to say.”
Elish said for over 40 years, Olore has helped the city deal with sometimes very complex issues. For his dedication to serving the legal needs of the community, city officials decided to recognize Olore by dedicating the 2006 Annual Report to him.
“Mr. Olore has and continues to serve the city as the city solicitor, a position he has assumed for over 40 years,” said Elish. “Throughout those years, he has consistently provided the city, its City Council and municipal staff with the highest degree of legal advice, guidance and expertise in dealing with many complex municipal issues. The city would like to thank him for his efforts by dedicating this report to him.”
The city solicitor is responsible for handling a variety of matters for the city, including advising the Finance Department, Presque Isle Police Department and city manager on legal issues affecting the city.
Olore was present at the meeting and stepped forward to receive the framed statement dedicating the report to him. With a handshake and congratulations, Elish passed the framed document to the longtime city solicitor.
Stepping to the podium, Olore spoke briefly to the Council.
“Thank you for allowing me to serve,” said Olore.
