PRESQUE ISLE, Maine  — F.A. Peabody Insurance is proud to announce that Liam Hughes, a Maine farm insurance agent serving agricultural operations across the state, has earned the Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist designation — bringing deeper, farm-focused expertise to help Maine farmers protect their land, livestock, equipment and livelihood.

The Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist designation is a specialized credential for insurance professionals who work with farms and agricultural businesses. Administered by the International Risk Management Institute, Inc., the AFIS program includes five courses focused on the coverages farms commonly rely on — farm property, liability, auto and specialized protections such as inland marine and workers’ compensation.

Troy Heald, Northern Aroostook district manager, shared, “We are proud to be able to support Liam and his growth in this industry.  Liam joined F.A. Peabody Insurance in 2020 as a sales producer and has brought a positive impact on Maine farms. This designation shows his efforts and desire to provide solutions for the farming community in its many aspects. We congratulate Liam on this achievement, and we know his clients will directly benefit from the increased industry knowledge he has gained.”

Hughes lives in Aroostook County with his wife and children and will soon be welcoming a new baby boy.

Hughes works with a range of Maine agricultural operations and can help review existing farm policies, identify coverage gaps and discuss options for buildings, machinery, livestock, liability and vehicles. Farmers and agribusiness owners who would like a second look at their coverage can contact F.A. Peabody Insurance to schedule a consultation.
