CARIBOU, Maine — Registration, fundraising and sponsorship are now open for the 4th Annual Walk for Hospice, hosted by the Aroostook Hospice Foundation. The event will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Caribou High School Track & Trails.
Each year, hundreds of community members come together to honor loved ones, celebrate cherished memories and support compassionate end-of-life care in Aroostook County. Last year’s Walk welcomed more than 360 participants and raised more than $68,000 to help sustain the Aroostook House of Comfort’s mission of providing family-centered hospice care. Together, with Northern Light Home Care & Hospice who administers the care, supporting this Walk will ensure individuals and their caregivers on their hospice journey will continue.

I believe it is very important as a successful business to give back to the community that we live in and help in any way that we can. The Walk for Hospice is a great opportunity to do exactly that. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to join the non-competitive event, featuring multiple trail options, including the accessible track at Caribou High School. Individuals and teams can create online fundraising pages, compete for the Top Individual and Top Team Fundraiser awards and show their spirit with custom t-shirts for the Individual Spirit Award and Team Spirit Award. Attendees can also purchase raffle tickets for a prize package valued at nearly $900, generously sponsored by S.W. Collins Co.
Every dollar raised helps ensure compassionate, family-centered hospice care remains available to patients and families throughout Aroostook County and beyond. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to become sponsors, while community members can participate by walking, fundraising, volunteering or making a donation.
