PRESQUE ISLE – The Wildcats might gain the nickname of the overtime team after another matchup went into extra minutes on Saturday at the Forum. Greg Cyr zeroed in the puck past the Winslow goalie on a powerplay to put PIHS over the number-one ranked Black Raiders, 3-2.

Sean Flanagin sent in the first Wildcat score off an assist from Matt Talbot. Ethan Hill kept the Winslow tide back with 12 shots on his goal, all deflected.
Winslow again outshot Presque Isle in the second period of play, 14-4, to find a gap in defense for the equalizer. Parker Hovey and Talbot took part in the third-period play that edged PIHS even with Winslow when Flanagin scored his second goal of the game.
According to head coach Carl Flynn, defeating the number-one team could mean a move for PIHS to third or fourth in the standings.
Presque Isle hockey also looked deadly when pushed into overtime as Old Town discovered last Wednesday at the Alfond Arena. The Wildcats posted seven overtime games in the 2007-08 season so far. With the defensive reflexes of Hill in the PIHS net guarding his back, junior Dylan Collins drilled in the winning puck with 5:16 left in overtime for the Wildcats’ 3-2 final.
Collins also put in the first shot of the game in the first period of play. Old Town scored a quick double in the second period having the luck of the ice to get past Hill’s pads. PI’s Brandon Daigle slapped in the tying goal with only 38 seconds remaining in the third period.
Dan LeBreton, the Coyote goalie, made few mistakes and 30 stops on the night.
Hill added 23 saves to his stats for the Wildcats.
