HOULTON — Anna Caron, a senior at Houlton High School, has earned one of the 2009 Principal’s Awards sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association (MPA). The award, announced by Principal Marty Bouchard, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.
“As a student and person, it doesn’t get any better than Anna. Her enthusiasm and work ethic are amazing, providing a positive example for others to follow,” Bouchard noted in making the announcement. “She very much deserves this recognition.”
Caron, Bouchard and other award winners and their principals will attend a luncheon in Bangor on Saturday, April 4. Each award winner will receive a plaque. Five of the students will, by lottery, win a $1,000 scholarship in the names of Horace O. McGowan and Richard W. Tyler, both former principals and executive directors of the association.
The Principal’s Award is presented in more than 140 Maine public and private high schools by member principals of MPA — the professional organization that represents Maine’s school administrators.
