Clara Hathway celebrates 102nd birthday

Image    Clara Hathaway, a lifetime resident of Island Falls, recently celebrated her 102nd birthday with family and friends.
Born February 5, 1907, she shared her stories, including her adventure driving across country to attend the World Fairs when she was in her early 20s.  When asked what she was going to do this year, she said,"Plan my 103rd of course!"
Earlier in the day, The Island Falls Historical Society had presented Hathaway with the Boston Post Cane for being the town’s oldest resident, which she showed off with pride at her party. The next day, keeping with her lively spirit, she went ice fishing with her son Tim Hathaway, hopefully not sporting her new vibrant red Keds™.
Attending the party were her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Agnes and Ted Sherwood; her son, Tim Hathaway and family friends Ted and Terri Pettingill, Pam Oliver, Valerie and Ralph Powers, Pat and Rose Hunt and Sandy Newman.
