On Thursday, the “Miracle Mile: Makenna and Maggie’s Race for Research” one-mile road race was held with a strong field of supporters.
All proceeds from the race will go to two worthwhile organizations working to find cures for children’s cancers — “Curesearch” and the “Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation.”
Spencer McElwain won the event for the second time in two years with a time of 4:18.65, followed by Chris Rines in a time of 4:48.44. The first woman to cross the finish line was Lauren Hodge with a time of 5:28.95.
