PRESQUE ISLE – A city official will be heading to court later this fall, not on city business but to face the charge of OUI.
The D.A.’s office has confirmed that Ronald McPherson, 58, of Presque Isle, is tentatively scheduled to appear in Presque Isle District Court to face the charge of operating under the influence stemming from an incident Sept. 12.     According to the Presque Isle Police Department log, McPherson, a city councilor, was stopped by Sgt. Joey Seeley at approximately 1:25 a.m. on Sept. 12, as the result of a traffic stop while officers worked an OUI detail on the Fort Rd. Seeley brought McPherson to the PIPD for an intoxilyzer test and subsequently arrested McPherson for OUI.
McPherson made personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 5. Results of the intoxilyzer test were not available at presstime.
Operating under the influence is a Class D misdemeanor offense. The fine could include jail time, a monetary fine and license suspension.
